When a fire alarm or sprinkler system is out of service, the Tampa Fire Marshal requires a fire safety patrol to walk the buildings until the system is fixed. What is a Fire Warden?
A fire warden is a person trained in assessing and monitoring for fire emergencies in a building, or a location. The fire warden will call 911 and alert the occupants in case of a fire or similar emergency. Tampa Fire Watch Wardens are trained in conducting these patrols. Fire watch logs are turned over to the property owners at the end of the patrol service, they shall be kept on site for the fire inspector or fire marshal to review for up to two years.
